About Us

We started this business in 2020 noticing there was a lack of knowledge in the Medicare field and agents that would pigeonhole individuals in the few companies or plans they offered. Common complaints were: Never heard from agent after initial sale, could not get a hold of them throughout year, had no idea about so & so plan or price, or didn’t know about certain benefits entitled to.


Since we (Joe & Siera) had close to 20 years of combined Medicare insurance experience both captive & independent, somewhat financially secure finally 😊, decided we could change that for the area residents. Offering every company & plan available, giving people the knowledge, options, service, and comparisons never had before. We pride ourselves on full transparency and if someone is already on the correct plan, will let you know that, and how to take advantage of some benefits may have not known about.


Our location expertise includes South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska, SW Minnesota, and NW Iowa. 


We truly love what we do and coming to work. Since opening in 2020, we are proud that Great Plains Medicare has over 500 members already. Hopefully proving we take care of our people.

Joe Linneweber

Grew up in Sioux Falls SD then attended the University of South Dakota. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business in 2010, went to work for Farm Bureau as an insurance agent for property/casualty - life/health. Also had a side gig traveling the state as a Humana MECA broker. In 2015 moved to the wonderful world of independent insurance working for Koch Insurance in Tea, SD doing the same plus being their Medicare Specialist. Left Koch Insurance in 2020 to start my long-time dream of Great Plains Medicare.


Married to the other lovely broker here, Siera, and recently welcomed a baby girl named Nelle into the world. Live in SW Sioux Falls, only a couple miles from both parents. Have 3 very entertaining dogs. Loves most sports, woodworking, the water, and of course his family.

Siera Linneweber

Moved to Sioux Falls over 20 years ago after growing up in Tyndall SD. Ever since high school working at an assisted living facility, The Inn on Westport, has had a passion working with the senior population. In 2010 received a degree as a Pharmacy Technician at Southeast Tech. First career job was at a long-term-care pharmacy compounding & filling medications for local nursing homes. Mid 2015 became a Humana Medicare agent, being their South Dakota / NW Iowa rep. Wanting to give members the opportunity to look at all Medicare options, went independent in 2020 at GPM.


Met Joe in high school and married in 2016. Have 3 spoiled dogs, a Border Collie, Sheltie, and Shepherd mix. In early 2023 had first child, Nelle Mable, a sweet little girl. Enjoys cooking, reading, party planning, and spending time with family.
